Sylvanbloom
raven-staff hierophant of the forest fae, mender and mark-caller
Sylvanbloom — The Encounter
raven-staff hierophant of the forest fae, mender and mark-caller · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Sylvanbloom
Sylvanbloom tends the flight of the Ahlir Faiser, the forest fae who answer trespass with thorn and glamour. Its raven-staff is both ward and reproach: a touch mends a wounded skirmisher, a whisper roots an intruder where they stand. The masked one rarely raises its own hand to kill, preferring to keep the warband whole while the others do the bleeding. Hunters who corner a single fae often find its wounds closing as fast as they open, for Sylvanbloom is never truly alone in the deep wood, and a flight with its mender at the rear is a flight that does not break.
Run Sylvanbloom in Sixty Seconds
- Bless the striker then heal an ally and hand it advantage as a bonus action.
- Hold reach then keep Thorn-Lash at 15 ft. so melee can't easily close.
- Break the press then Hush of Leaves to charm and slow a cone of attackers.
- When bloodied then retreat behind the melee fae and keep the flight topped up.
Sylvanbloom
Medium fey, neutral
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINERaven-Staff Blessing (signature). As a bonus action, Sylvanbloom touches its carved raven-staff to an ally within 30 ft.; that ally regains 9 (2d8) hit points and gains advantage on its next attack roll. Usable a number of times equal to its Wisdom modifier (4) per long rest.
Grove-Bound. While standing on natural ground, Sylvanbloom has advantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration.
Actions
Multiattack. Sylvanbloom makes two Thorn-Lash attacks.
Thorn-Lash. Melee Spell Attack: +6 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8+4) piercing damage.
Hush of Leaves (Recharge 5-6). Sylvanbloom whispers through the staff; each enemy in a 15-foot cone must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom save or be charmed until the end of its next turn and have its speed halved.
A masked fae healer whose raven-topped staff knits the wounds of the warband and slows any who close.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Keep Sylvanbloom at the back, topping up the toughest fae with Raven-Staff Blessing and lashing anything that reaches 15 ft. Use Hush of Leaves to peel one attacker off an ally. It is a support body, not a brawler.
Open by blessing the warband's striker for healing plus advantage, then hold reach with Thorn-Lash. When two foes press in, Hush of Leaves charms and slows the cone so the flight resets. When bloodied, fall back behind the melee fae and keep healing; Sylvanbloom wins by keeping the warband standing, not by dueling.
Same support loop at higher numbers: bless, lash, hush, repeat. Position behind two or more melee fae so Sylvanbloom is always out of reach while it heals. It is the anchor of a warband, not a solo boss.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Sylvanbloom?
Sylvanbloom is CR 6 at its native Tier 2 (about 110 HP, +6 to hit, DC 15). Scale via the tier table to CR 2 or CR 11.
How does Sylvanbloom fight alongside the rest of the Ahlir Faiser?
It is the flight's mender and force multiplier. Sylvanbloom heals the front-line fae, hands them advantage, and slows attackers with Hush of Leaves so the warband never breaks.
Is Sylvanbloom a boss creature?
No. It is an elite support caster with no legendary actions. Run it behind other Ahlir Faiser, not alone.
