Qimnaruth
spiked-helm sickle-bearer, wingless reaper of the condemned
Qimnaruth — The Encounter
spiked-helm sickle-bearer, wingless reaper of the condemned · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Qimnaruth
Qimnaruth is the reaper of the Cult of Metatron, the wingless herald that walks the ground to gather what the host has condemned. Where the others mark and wound, Qimnaruth finishes, dragging the staggering back within reach of its sickle so none crawl from the field. The cult names it the gleaner, last to strike and surest, for its blade falls hardest on the already-broken. It follows the flock's verdicts on foot, hooking the wounded out of cover and cutting them down before they can be healed. Sent out alone against the hale and whole, the gleaner has nothing to reap, and its sickle finds only iron.
Run Qimnaruth in Sixty Seconds
- Kill-priority high once your party is hurt; it executes wounded PCs with advantage and chases kills.
- Open with patience, then Drawing Hook to pull a low or fleeing target back into sickle reach.
- When bloodied keep hunting the weakest PC; Cull and Step lets it disengage after each kill.
- Three ways to run it finisher cleaning up the wounded, hook-puller dragging casters out of cover, or a roaming executioner chaining kills across the line.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Hang back until a PC is hurt, then close and finish it with advantage. Hook fleeing or low targets back into reach. Hunt the wounded the flock has marked; never charge in first.
Let the heralds and casters draw blood, then move in on anyone below half for the Reap the Marked bonus. Drawing Hook pulls fleeing casters back into the kill zone, and Cull and Step carries it to the next victim. It is a finisher within the host, not an opener.
Stalk the wounded across the field, hooking and culling whoever the flock has softened. Chain Cull and Step kills to stay mobile. Always trail the warband's verdicts, never solo.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Qimnaruth?
Native Challenge Rating 6 (2,300 XP) at Tier 2. Tier 1 (~CR 2) and Tier 3 (~CR 11) stat lines are provided to scale to your party.
How does Qimnaruth fight alongside the rest of the Cult of Metatron?
It is the host's executioner. The fliers and casters wound and mark targets; Qimnaruth follows on foot to hook and finish them before they can be healed. It is an elite finisher, dangerous in a warband but weak opening alone.
What is the curved blade it carries?
A long hooked reaping sickle, modeled by the Reaping Sickle and reach-10 Drawing Hook attacks. Qimnaruth is an SRD celestial reflavored as a wingless reaper that preys on the wounded.
