Denise — The Encounter
horned pouncer crowned in curling horns · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Denise
Denise is the brood's ambusher, the sister who waits on a tomb-lid or a broken arch while the flock draws prey beneath her. Lilith's daughters herd a column toward chosen ground, and Denise is the trap that springs once a straggler is alone. She pounces to flatten, then sets upon the fallen with claw and fang while her sisters wheel overhead. The grimoires say she chooses the frightened first, for her shriek of fear scatters the brave and leaves the timid pinned beneath her horns; whatever she drives to the ground, the flock devours.
Run Denise in Sixty Seconds
- Pounce to prone then a 15-ft charge knocks the target down and grants a free Bite.
- Scatter with fear then Denise opens by frightening the line so she can isolate one victim.
- Hunt the lone then send her at stragglers and back-rankers, not the formed-up front.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Perch Denise on high ground and drop her on a straggler: Pounce to prone, then bonus-action Bite. She works the flanks while the flock herds; not solo.
Open with fear to scatter the line, then Pounce a lone target prone and Bite. She isolates and pins for her sisters to finish.
Ambush from above onto an isolated back-ranker, prone them, and let the flock swarm. Fight as a pack; disengage upward when bloodied.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.
