Reeta
beast-faced twin-sickle skirmisher of the Death Reapers
Reeta — The Encounter
beast-faced twin-sickle skirmisher of the Death Reapers · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Reeta
Reeta is one of the Death Reapers' runners, the fast, light killers that work in pairs to swarm a single foe. Where the heavy waders break the center and the gleaners dive from above, Reeta and its kind dart between them, finishing whatever the warband has cornered. World-lore of the soul-harvest tells of the lean hunters of the dead-roads, beast-headed and quick, who never fight one against one but circle until the odds are theirs. Within the Flock they are the pack, the bodies that turn a wounded straggler into a corpse before it can rally. Those who have outrun the gleaners only to meet the runners describe twin blades flashing from two sides at once.
Run Reeta in Sixty Seconds
- It hunts in pairs so deny the gang-up: Pack Flanker gives it advantage when a packmate is adjacent to its target.
- Skirmish Step lets it Disengage or Dash as a bonus action, so it strikes and slips out of reach.
- It's fast and lightly armored (Speed 40, AC 14), so isolate and burst it before it flanks you.
- Undead Fortitude can save it at 1 HP; radiant or a crit prevents it.
Reeta
Medium undead, lawful evil
CR 2 · 450 XP · GUIDELINEPack Flanker. Reeta has advantage on a melee attack against a creature if at least one of its allies is within 5 ft. of that creature and not incapacitated.
Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces Reeta to 0 HP, it makes a Con save (DC 5 + the damage taken) unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit; on a success it drops to 1 HP instead.
Actions
Multiattack. Reeta makes two twin-sickle attacks.
Twin Sickle. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8+3) slashing damage plus 2 (1d4) necrotic damage.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Skirmish Step (Bonus Action). Reeta takes the Disengage or Dash action.
A lithe, beast-faced reaper bearing twin curved sickles, darting through a fight to gut whatever the pack has surrounded.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Run Reeta as a pack skirmisher: never alone. It uses its speed and Skirmish Step to gang up on one PC with a packmate, claiming advantage from Pack Flanker, then disengages before retaliation. Focus the isolated target.
Fight as a pack within the Flock: two or more runners swarm whoever the elites have bloodied, exploiting Pack Flanker for advantage and Skirmish Step to slip away. They finish stragglers; they never stand and trade alone.
Use a full pack of runners to collapse on isolated heroes the wing-pack has driven off. Each takes advantage from flanking and dashes between targets. This is a pack, never a solo duel.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Reeta?
Native CR 2 (Tier 1). Use the tiers table to scale up to about CR 6 or CR 11.
How does Reeta fight alongside the rest of the Death Reapers?
It is one of the Flock's runners, a fast pack-skirmisher that finishes the stragglers the waders and gleaners have cornered. It relies on flanking and never fights one-on-one.
Is Reeta dangerous on its own?
No. Alone it loses Pack Flanker and is a brittle skirmisher. Its threat comes entirely from ganging up with the rest of the warband.
