Gadreel the Fallen
Large celestial (fallen watcher), neutral evil
CR 19 · 22,000 XP · GUIDELINELegendary Resistance (3/Day). If Gadreel the Fallen fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance. Gadreel the Fallen has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
The First Temptation. Gadreel is wreathed in seductive glamour. A creature that starts its turn able to see Gadreel within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the start of its next turn; while charmed this way it can't take reactions and treats Gadreel's allies as its own for the purpose of Gadreel's effects. A creature that succeeds is immune for 24 hours.
Actions
Multiattack. Gadreel the Fallen makes two Whispered Blade attacks and uses Lead Astray if available.
Whispered Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) slashing damage plus 22 (4d10) psychic damage. If the target is charmed, the attack is a critical hit.
Lead Astray (Recharge 5–6). Up to three creatures Gadreel can see within 60 feet must each make a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure a creature immediately moves up to its speed in a direction of Gadreel's choice and makes one weapon attack against a creature of Gadreel's choice, then takes 27 (6d8) psychic damage.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Beautiful Death (Reaction). When a creature Gadreel can see within 30 feet hits it, Gadreel can force that creature to instead strike the nearest other creature it can reach (DC 22 Wisdom negates).
Legendary Actions (3/Round)
Strike (Costs 1 Action). Gadreel the Fallen makes one Whispered Blade attack.
Betray (Costs 2 Actions). One charmed creature within 60 feet uses its reaction to make one weapon attack against an ally of your choice, with advantage.
An achingly beautiful angel of too many hands, each holding a different blade, each blade offered as a gift. Gadreel led the first astray, and has been leading ever since, always with a smile and always with a knife.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
A vastly diminished echo of Gadreel the Fallen for a mid-level party — same role, far softer numbers. It is the host's disruptor — it charms your party, turns your own attacks against your allies, and executes the beguiled. A single failed save can hand Gadreel your best damage-dealer.
A weakened Gadreel the Fallen, still a serious boss. It is the host's disruptor — it charms your party, turns your own attacks against your allies, and executes the beguiled. A single failed save can hand Gadreel your best damage-dealer.
It is the host's disruptor — it charms your party, turns your own attacks against your allies, and executes the beguiled. A single failed save can hand Gadreel your best damage-dealer. This is its true, overpowered form — a legendary-tier fight.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.
