Goblin Shaman 2
Goblin Shaman 2 — The Encounter
Horn-masked screamer who calls down spite and flame · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Goblin Shaman 2
Where the warren's hedge-witch mends and blesses, this Shaman burns and curses. It is the angry mouth of the spirits, a goblin who wears the skull of a horned beast it claims to have eaten and screams its prayers loud enough to be heard in the next valley. The mask is its whole identity; beneath it the goblin is forgotten, and it speaks of itself only as the voice of the wrathful dead. In battle it leads with terror, loosing a cone of spirit-fear to break a line, then hurling conjured flame into the gap. Its curses sour an enemy's aim and its inflicted wounds fester with grave-cold. The warband loves and fears it in equal measure, for the Shaman is as likely to curse a goblin that crosses it as a foe. It does not heal; it punishes, and it expects the spirits to drag the survivors down once it has shown them fear.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Open with the fear cone to scatter clustered PCs, then burning hands and hurled flame into the gap. Curse the deadliest attacker. Kill-priority for the party is the shaman; pair it with raiders who shield it.
Lead with fear and spike growth to control the field, then layer bane and inflict wounds on key PCs. Run it as the offensive caster of a goblin host beside a bigger leader, never alone.
Anchor a lair's terror: fear, fire, and curses while minions hold the line. Re-fear whoever rallies. This is a battlefield-control add-on; field it with a flagship boss, not as a solo threat.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Goblin Shaman 2?
It is a CR 2 caster add-on at its native Tier 1 (AC 13, HP 35, spell DC 13). Tier 2 (~CR 6) and Tier 3 (~CR 11) versions are provided with the same spell kit and scaled numbers.
Can Goblin Shaman 2 be a companion or ally?
Yes, though a frightening one. This wrath-caller works as an aggressive ally caster who breaks enemy morale and burns clustered foes. Use the bound companion Cinderjaw for a lighter version, or run the Shaman as a volatile, vengeful hireling.
How does it differ from the other goblin shamans?
This is the offensive, fear-and-fire shaman, all SRD spells: fear, burning hands, bane, inflict wounds, and spike growth. Where another shaman heals and blesses, this one controls the battlefield through terror and punishes with flame and curses.
