Celeste
staff-bearing moon-priestess of the lunar warren
Celeste — The Encounter
staff-bearing moon-priestess of the lunar warren · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Celeste
The Lunar Cottontails read the moon as scripture, and Celeste is one of the warren's moon-priestesses, keeper of the tome and the orb-staff. She does not heal as Clover does, she commands the light itself, calling down moonfire to scour foes and bless allies in the same breath. In the warren's way of war she is a force-multiplier, never a lone caster: her staff-beams soften the enemy line while her tome-verses sharpen the strikes of the skirmishers around her. The flock arranges its battle around her cadence, advancing on her blessing, falling back at her warning. When she lays the waning curse on a foe, the wardens know that target is about to break, and they press.
Run Celeste in Sixty Seconds
- Open with the curse then Waning Curse the deadliest foe to weaken its attacks.
- Beam it down then make two orb-staff attacks on the cursed target.
- Buff a striker then spend Tome Verse to add 1d4 to an ally's attack or save as a bonus action.
- Repay the line then trigger Moonfire Channel to heal a hurt ally when you open or drop a foe.
- Hold the back rank then keep the wardens between you and melee, fight as the warren, not alone.
Celeste
Medium humanoid (rabbitfolk), lawful good
CR 2 · 450 XP · GUIDELINEStanding Leap. Celeste's long jump is up to 20 feet and her high jump up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.
Moonfire Channel (signature). When Celeste reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a staff attack, or on the first turn she casts from her orb-staff each combat, she calls down moonlight: one ally she can see within 30 feet regains 5 (2d4) hit points.
Actions
Multiattack. Celeste makes two orb-staff attacks.
Orb-Staff Beam. Ranged Spell Attack: +5 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10+3) radiant damage.
Waning Curse (recharge 5–6). Celeste points her staff at one creature within 30 feet. It must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or take 9 (2d8) radiant damage and have disadvantage on attack rolls until the end of its next turn (half damage and no disadvantage on a success).
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Tome Verse (bonus). Celeste reads a verse from her tome; one ally she can see within 30 feet gains a +1d4 bonus to their next attack roll or saving throw before the end of Celeste's next turn.
A composed rabbit-folk priestess raising a tall golden staff crowned by a glowing blue orb, her open tome cradled against her chest.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Cast from behind the wardens. Lead with Waning Curse on the deadliest foe, then beam it down with the orb-staff while feeding Tome Verse to an attacking ally as a bonus action. Channel moonfire to top off a hurt comrade. Never wander from the warren.
Same priestess role, scaled up. Curse the biggest threat, beam from range, and buff the flock's strikers with tome-verses. Let Starshine anchor while you blind and weaken the enemy line.
Fight as the casting heart of a full warren warband, never solo. Curse, beam, and buff every round; let the wardens and skirmishers turn the foes you have weakened into casualties.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Celeste?
Celeste is CR 2 (450 XP) at her native Tier 1. Tier 2 (~CR 6) and Tier 3 (~CR 11) stat lines let her join higher-level warbands in the same support-caster role.
How does Celeste fight alongside the rest of the Lunar Cottontails?
She is the warren's moon-priestess, a force-multiplier who curses the strongest enemy, beams it with moonfire, buffs the flock's strikers with tome-verses, and tops off the wounded. The wardens and skirmishers convert the foes she weakens into kills.
Is Celeste a solo caster boss?
No. solo_capable is false and she has no legendary actions. Her kit only shines amplifying a Lunar Cottontails warband; run her behind a screening line, never alone.
