Jeet
bull-shark brute hefting a saw-toothed boarding cleaver
Jeet — The Encounter
bull-shark brute hefting a saw-toothed boarding cleaver · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Jeet
Jeet is the reef-corsairs' butcher, a thick-built bull-shark whose boarding cleaver was once a whaling flensing blade. Its saw-tooth edge does not merely cut, it tears, and the wounds it opens weep until someone stops to bind them, which on a contested deck no one ever does. Jeet keeps no plunder and learns no names; he simply wades toward the densest crowd and starts reaping, the Cleaving Push carrying him from one falling sailor to the next. The warband uses him to break formations, knowing that where Jeet swings, the line buckles and the sharks flood through the gap he carves.
Run Jeet in Sixty Seconds
- Cut to bleed then Saw-Tooth Edge piles 1d10 ongoing on the wound.
- Crowd the cleaver then hit clustered foes so their healer falls behind.
- Smell blood then Blood Frenzy gives advantage on the hurt.
- Drop and roll on then Cleaving Push bites a new target on a kill.
- Break the line then carve the gap and let the pack flood through.
Jeet
Medium monstrosity (shapechanger), chaotic evil
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINEBlood Frenzy. Jeet has advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature that doesn't have all its hit points.
Saw-Tooth Edge. When Jeet hits a creature with his Boarding Cleaver, the target takes 5 (1d10) ongoing slashing damage at the start of its next turn unless a creature uses an action to staunch the wound (DC 14 Wisdom (Medicine) check).
Amphibious. Jeet can breathe air and water.
Actions
Multiattack. Jeet makes one Boarding Cleaver attack and one Bite attack.
Boarding Cleaver. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d10 + 5) slashing damage.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Cleaving Push. When Jeet drops a creature to 0 hit points with the Boarding Cleaver, he can make one Bite attack as a bonus action against a different creature within reach.
Jeet swings a cleaver as long as a man is tall, its serrated edge leaving wounds that keep on bleeding as he wades into the next victim.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Wade into the tightest cluster and swing the cleaver to start a bleed nobody has time to staunch. Bite to follow up, and use Cleaving Push to roll into a fresh target when one drops. Breaks lines for the warband.
Target the most clustered foes so the Saw-Tooth bleed eats their healer's actions. Swing with Blood Frenzy advantage once a target is hurt, and chain Cleaving Push from kill to kill. He cracks the formation while the pack pours in.
Fight as the warband's line-breaker: pile bleed onto multiple PCs, swing with advantage on the wounded, and use Cleaving Push to keep momentum. Let the other sharks exploit the gaps he carves. Never solos.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Jeet?
He is a CR 6 (2,300 XP) Tier 2 elite at his native numbers, with Tier 1 (~CR 2) and Tier 3 (~CR 11) lines provided to scale him.
How does Jeet fight alongside the rest of the Pirate Sharks?
He is the warband's line-breaker. Jeet's bleeding cleaver and Cleaving Push let him chew through clustered defenders, opening gaps for the rest of the sharks to flood through. He relies on the pack to capitalize, not to fight alone.
How is the Saw-Tooth bleed stopped?
A creature must spend an action and succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom (Medicine) check to staunch the wound, otherwise it takes 1d10 slashing at the start of its turn.
