Bo Bo
wide-armed sumo bruiser of the panda village-guard
Bo Bo — The Encounter
wide-armed sumo bruiser of the panda village-guard · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Bo Bo
Bo Bo is the panda village-guard's living wedge, a rotund sumo of a warrior who plants both feet and spreads his arms to gather enemies into his crushing reach. Where Bul Bul holds a single doorway, Bo Bo wades into the open and bullies clustered attackers, knocking them sprawling so the rest of the guard can finish them. The cudgels at his belt are seldom needed; his fists do most of the work. He fights shoulder to shoulder with the warband's brawlers, trusting the spear-line to cover the flanks while he occupies the middle of any brawl. The villagers cheer his stance the way they once cheered him in the festival ring.
Run Bo Bo in Sixty Seconds
- Step into the crowd then every melee hit deals +1d6 while two or more foes are within 5 ft.
- Open by gathering enemies then both fists on one target forces a DC 14 Str save or prone.
- Don't bother tripping him then Steady Footing gives advantage to stay upright.
- When bloodied keep clogging the middle so the spear-line picks off the prone.
Bo Bo
Medium humanoid (beastfolk), lawful neutral
CR 5 · 1,800 XP · GUIDELINESweeping Stance. Bo Bo threatens every space within 5 feet at once. When two or more creatures are within reach of it, its melee attacks deal an extra 3 (1d6) bludgeoning damage.
Steady Footing. Bo Bo has advantage on saving throws and ability checks to avoid being knocked prone or moved against its will.
Actions
Multiattack. Bo Bo makes two Slamming Fist attacks. If both hit the same creature, that creature must succeed on a DC 14 Strength save or be knocked prone.
Slamming Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6+4) bludgeoning damage.
Belt Cudgel. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6+4) bludgeoning damage, and the target is pushed 5 feet.
Arms flung wide, Bo Bo herds a whole knot of foes into reach and pummels them all at once.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Wade Bo Bo into the thickest cluster of foes so Sweeping Stance triggers, then knock the loudest one prone. He herds and pins rather than chases. He brawls beside the other guard-pandas, never alone.
Open by stepping where two or more enemies are adjacent so Sweeping Stance adds damage to every swing. Use the double-hit prone on whoever the spear-pandas want grounded. Steady Footing means shoves and trips bounce off him; hold the center of the warband.
Bo Bo becomes the anvil of the village-guard, gathering whole units into reach while allies hammer the edges. Run him as crowd control, not a duelist. He needs the warband around him to convert his knockdowns.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

He is the warband's crowd-herder: he packs enemies into his reach and knocks them prone so brawlers and spear-pandas can clean up. He is built to brawl in formation, never solo.
Is Bo Bo a boss?
No. He is an elite controller-bruiser with no legendary actions; deploy him as the middle of a guard line.
