Bini Birotcha — The Encounter

spike-shield bruiser of the green horde · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.

Who Is Bini Birotcha

Bini Birotcha is the orc who plants himself and does not move, the spiked wall the Ugok Warlords build their charge against. His shield is a bristling slab of scrap and nails, and he wields it as eagerly as the cleaver in his other fist. In the warband he holds the flank that must not break, soaking blows and bleeding anyone who swings at him while the faster orcs swing wide. The green horde knows where Bini stands the line will hold, so they commit hard around him. He takes pride in the dents in his shield; each one is a hero who failed to get past.

How It Fights — by Tier

Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.

Tier 1Levels 1-4 · GUIDELINE
AC14HP49 (7d8+18) To-hit+4Save DC12

Park him on the chokepoint and let the party break against him. His spiked shield punishes melee, buying time for the rest of the warband to swing around.

Tier 2Levels 5-10 · NATIVE
AC17HP120 (16d8+48) To-hit+7Save DC14

Hold the flank, shield-bash the most mobile attacker prone, and keep an ally in his half-cover bubble. He is the warband's wall, not its sword arm; never advance him out of the line.

Tier 3Levels 11-15 · GUIDELINE
AC19HP195 (23d8+92) To-hit+8Save DC16

Anchor the warband's formation. Bash anyone trying to flank prone, soak punishment with the bulwark, and let the heavier hitters work behind his cover. He fights as the line, never alone.

Questions, Asked at the Table

What CR is Bini Birotcha?

His native rank is Tier 2, CR 6 (2,300 XP). The tier table provides CR 2 and an up-scaled CR 9 build.

How does Bini Birotcha fight alongside the rest of the Ugok Warlords?

He is the immovable anchor. He holds the flank or chokepoint and grants cover, freeing reckless orcs like Jkol Uten and hammerers like Bulbul Sasabun to commit hard around a line that won't break.

Does his shield punish ranged attacks too?

No, Spiked Bulwark only triggers on missed melee attacks from within 5 ft. Ranged attackers are safe, which is why the warband screens him with faster orcs.
