Sharoon Kbetah — The Encounter

maul-and-quiver veteran of the green horde · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.

Who Is Sharoon Kbetah

Sharoon Kbetah is the old killer of the Ugok Warlords, the one who has fought in enough lines to know when to throw and when to charge. He keeps a quiver of crude javelins to soften a target before he reaches it with his maul, a patience uncommon among orcs. In the warband he is the reliable hammer the younger brutes try to imitate, the one who never breaks formation and never wastes a swing. He fights where the press is thickest, picking off the wounded and the isolated. The green horde trusts him to be exactly where the line needs him, and so far he always has been.

How It Fights — by Tier

Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.

Tier 1Levels 1-4 · GUIDELINE
AC14HP50 (6d8+23) To-hit+4Save DC12

Open with a javelin to chip the target, then close and maul. Keep him shoulder to shoulder with the warband and let his big first hit set the tempo.

Tier 2Levels 5-10 · NATIVE
AC17HP123 (13d8+65) To-hit+7Save DC14

Soften an isolated or wounded foe with a javelin, then charge in and land the Heavy Hitter bonus on a fresh target. He is a steady frontliner; fight him as part of the pack, never solo.

Tier 3Levels 11-15 · GUIDELINE
AC18HP195 (26d8+78) To-hit+9Save DC16

Run him as the warband's dependable hammer: javelin the stragglers, maul the front line, and always swing into someone he hasn't hit yet for max damage. He holds formation with the horde.

Questions, Asked at the Table

What CR is Sharoon Kbetah?

His native rank is Tier 2, CR 6 (2,300 XP). The tier table down-scales him to CR 2 and up-scales to roughly CR 9.

How does Sharoon Kbetah fight alongside the rest of the Ugok Warlords?

He is the steady veteran of the line. His javelins reach out to soften isolated targets and his Heavy Hitter swing rewards spreading attacks across fresh foes, complementing the reckless openers and the wall-holders. He is rank-and-file, not a boss.

How does Heavy Hitter work with Multiattack?

It triggers once per turn on the first hit against a creature he hasn't damaged that turn, so hitting two different targets, or following a javelin with a maul, maximizes it.
