Tkol Mastur
beast-riding warlord of the green horde
Tkol Mastur — The Encounter
beast-riding warlord of the green horde · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Tkol Mastur
Among the Ugok Warlords, leadership is taken in blood and held from the saddle. Tkol Mastur rides the last of the great marsh-beasts his clan ever broke, and the totem lashed to his back lists the rival warlords he has eaten. Where he points his cleaver, the warband surges; where his beast plants its claws, the line holds. Lesser orcs fight harder simply to be seen by him, for cowards are fed to the mount. He does not scheme so much as roar, and the horde answers as one throat. To kill the green tide you must first unseat the rider, and many a hero has drowned trying.
Run Tkol Mastur in Sixty Seconds
- He is the warband's heart then while he lives, his orcs can't be frightened and hit +1d4.
- Open with the charge then trample in, DC 17 Strength or the target falls prone under the beast.
- Kill priority is the rider then unseat or drop Tkol and the green tide loses its nerve.
- When bloodied then he wheels the mount, bellows two orcs into reach, and fights back-to-back with them.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Run him as the warband's anchor: charge the line, knock a hero prone, and let the rank-and-file orcs pile on while his command buff keeps them swinging. Never split him from the pack.
Open with a trampling charge into the softest target, then cleave whoever rallies the party. Keep the mount between him and ranged threats and bellow his weakest orcs back into the fight.
Drive the charge each round, prone the front-liner, and feed legendary cleaves into anyone who steps away. Spend Bellow Orders to swarm the party's healer with surrounding warband members.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Tkol Mastur?
He is CR 11 (7,200 XP) at his native Tier 3, a mounted warband champion. Tier tables down-scale him to CR 2 and CR 6 for lower-level parties.
How does Tkol Mastur fight alongside the rest of the Ugok Warlords?
He is the warlord the others die for. His Warlord's Command buffs nearby orcs and blocks fear, and he uses Bellow Orders to move or strike with the rank-and-file, turning loose brutes into a coordinated charge.
Is the mount a separate creature?
Treat them as one statted unit for simplicity. If you want the beast to be targetable separately, give it half the listed HP; unseating Tkol removes Trampling Charge and the mount bite.
