Caladrius — The Encounter
leaping glaive-charger of the Visarian court · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Caladrius
Caladrius is the spear-tip of the Visarian advance, a noblewoman who treats the gap between two lines as an invitation. Where the winged duelists strike from above, she crashes in along the ground, vaulting wreckage and bodies to drive her glaive into the enemy's first rank. Her bladed shield turns aside the counterstroke while her reach keeps foes from closing on the gentler nobles behind. The court prizes her for the spectacle of the charge as much as the result, and she obliges them with a leap and a snarl every time. She fights to break the line so the warband can pour through; she has never cared to stand alone.
Run Caladrius in Sixty Seconds
- Kill priority then a frontline target she can knock prone to open a gap.
- Open with a charge then 15 ft straight in plus a hit adds 2d8 and a prone save.
- Hold the breach then 10-ft reach and Reach Guard punish anyone entering her space.
- Reposition then Vault 20 ft to start a fresh charge without provoking.
Caladrius
Medium humanoid (elf), lawful evil
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINECharging Leap (signature). If Caladrius moves at least 15 feet straight toward a target and hits it with her glaive on the same turn, the target takes an extra 9 (2d8) slashing damage and must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Reach Guard. Caladrius's glaive has 10-foot reach, and she may make an opportunity attack against a creature that enters her reach, not only one that leaves it.
Actions
Multiattack. Caladrius makes two glaive attacks.
Glaive. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d10+4 plus 1d4) slashing damage.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Vault (Bonus Action). Caladrius leaps up to 20 feet horizontally or 10 feet vertically; this movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
She vaults across the field with shield braced and glaive leveled, opening the charge for the rest of the court.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Vault into the enemy line, land a Charging Leap to knock a target prone, then jab at 10 ft. Open the gap for the rest of the warband to exploit.
Lead the ground charge: move 15+ ft straight in for the Charging Leap prone, then hold the breach with 10-ft reach and Reach Guard. Keep the line nobles right behind her.
Run her as the warband's breach-maker, vaulting in to floor a key foe while the duelists follow through the gap. She opens charges, not solo fights; keep her supported.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Caladrius?
She is built as CR 6 at her native Tier 2 (AC 17, 115 HP). Scale to Tier 1 or Tier 3 with the tier table.
How does Caladrius fight alongside the rest of the Visarian Nobles?
She is the ground charge: she vaults into the enemy line and knocks a key foe prone to open a breach, then holds it with her reach while the duelists pour through.
Is Caladrius a boss?
No. She is a wingless charger elite (solo_capable=false) built to open the line for the warband, not to fight alone.
