Cirdanor
blade-and-claw dueling noble of the Visarian court
Cirdanor — The Encounter
blade-and-claw dueling noble of the Visarian court · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Cirdanor
Cirdanor wears the silks of the court but fights like something feral kept on a jeweled leash. His sword keeps a foe honest while his claw-gauntlet does the cruel work, raking wounds that bleed long after the duel is decided. He prowls the warband's flanks beside Morlinion, the two of them harrying whatever the front-line nobles have engaged. The decadent court delights in his savagery the way it delights in any scandal, applauding the blood while pretending to be appalled. Cirdanor cares nothing for the applause; he cares only that an ally has pinned the prey so his claws may bite where it cannot guard.
Run Cirdanor in Sixty Seconds
- Kill priority then a target an ally already engages, so Pack Duelist grants advantage.
- Open with Predatory Step then close 10 ft free and attack with sword and claw.
- Both hits land then Rending Claw adds 2d6 and a bleed of 1d10 per turn.
- Stay paired then keep within 5 ft of an ally to hit at advantage.
Cirdanor
Medium humanoid (elf), neutral evil
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINERending Claw (signature). When Cirdanor hits the same creature with both his sword and his claw-gauntlet in one turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) slashing damage and begins bleeding, losing 5 (1d10) damage at the start of its next turn unless it or an ally uses an action to staunch the wound.
Pack Duelist. Cirdanor has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of his allies is within 5 feet of it and isn't incapacitated.
Actions
Multiattack. Cirdanor makes one sword attack and one claw-gauntlet attack.
Sword. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6+4) slashing damage.
Claw-Gauntlet. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d4+4) slashing damage.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Predatory Step (Bonus Action). Cirdanor moves up to 10 feet toward an enemy without provoking opportunity attacks.
He fights with a blade in one fist and a clawed gauntlet in the other, opening wounds that refuse to close.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Predatory Step into a target an ally already threatens, then sword-and-claw it. Land both to start the bleed. Stay near a partner for Pack Duelist.
Hit the same target with both weapons for Rending Claw's bleed, then keep an ally adjacent so Pack Duelist grants advantage. He is a flanker; keep him with the warband.
Run him as a roaming duelist who stacks bleeds on whatever the line nobles have locked down. He depends on adjacent allies, so never field him solo.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Cirdanor?
He is built as CR 6 at his native Tier 2 (AC 16, 108 HP). Scale to Tier 1 or Tier 3 with the tier table.
How does Cirdanor fight alongside the rest of the Visarian Nobles?
He flanks beside Morlinion, attacking targets the front-line nobles have engaged so Pack Duelist gives him advantage and his sword-and-claw combo opens lasting bleeds.
Is Cirdanor a boss?
No. He is a wingless flanking elite (solo_capable=false) who needs allies adjacent to his targets, so run him with the warband.
