His art is staying — and from the one spot he never leaves, he is the only mouse positioned to notice that all the town's frantic motion goes in circles that never arrive. When the world edits his ground four inches, he steps back onto the old true coordinate, off the map, choosing his own geometry against the housekeeping of heaven.
