The Lore of the Hornéd Marshal

The Hornéd Marshal was once Seere’s sense of authority — his capacity to command, to organize, to impose order on chaos. A Prince who moves too fast to give orders has no use for a commanding presence. So he shed it.

The Marshal stands now at the threshold of Seere’s domain, antlered and rigid, holding the shape of law in a place that has no lawmaker. It does not enforce rules — it enforces the memory of rules. Where the Marshal stands, hierarchy still exists. Rank still matters. Titles still carry weight. Remove it, and the court dissolves into noise.

The horns are not decoration. They are the branching paths of every decision Seere never made — every fork in the road he passed through too fast to choose. The Marshal chose for him. It is still choosing.

Role in the Court

The Marshal is a Guardian — one of the things Seere deliberately set down to watch. Where the Gilded Sentinel guards the concept of value, the Hornéd Marshal guards the concept of order. Without the Marshal, Seere’s Court would have no structure. Heralds would not know their rank. Custodians would not know their purpose. The entire hierarchy would collapse into the entropy that Seere’s velocity naturally creates.

The antlers branch endlessly — each tine a decision point, a fork, a moment where command was required and Seere was already gone. The Marshal carries the weight of every unchosen path. It is the heaviest member of the Court, not in mass but in consequence.
