Speed — the Elder Velocity
The ceiling Seere shattered. The second Herald of Prince Seere’s Court.
The Lore of Speed
Seere moved. Then he moved faster. Then faster still. At some point, the idea of “going fast” could not accelerate any further. It fell behind. That ceiling — the limit of what speed used to mean — became Speed.
Speed is not fast. Speed is how fast things used to be before Seere redefined the concept.
It walks like a monument to a broken record. It does not chase Seere. It marks the place where Seere surpassed the laws of motion. It is the elder definition of velocity — the one the universe used before Seere broke it.
Every member of the Court was once a part of Seere that he dropped and never returned for. They serve him not from love or oath, but because they are incomplete — each a single function of the Prince, severed from the whole, forever trying to rejoin the body that outran them.
Role in the Court
Speed is the second of the four Heralds — the fragments Seere shed while moving. Where Haste is the eternal first step, Speed is the former ceiling. It is the monument, the marker, the gravestone of the old physics. Everything after Speed is Seere’s domain alone.
Speed does not run. Speed does not need to. It has already been surpassed. Its purpose now is testimony — living proof that the laws of motion once had limits, and that a Prince of Hell found them insufficient.
