Lady Apokalypse
Lady Apokalypse — The Encounter
Scarred wargreave of the last cities, blade that ends worlds · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Lady Apokalypse
They name her for the ending she carries. Lady Apokalypse rose from the ash-belts where the old cities burned, a survivor who learned that mercy is a luxury the dying cannot afford. Her armor is welded from the wrecks of a hundred foes; her blade, a sawing length of salvaged steel, was sharpened on the bones of those who underestimated a woman alone in the waste. She fights as the world ends around her, untroubled, almost glad of the noise. Warlords hire her sword and learn too late that she answers only to the next horizon, walking out of their ruined keeps while the smoke still rises. Some say a scar like hers cannot be earned twice, that she has already died once and simply refused to stay down. Where she stands, banners fall, and the survivors speak her name in the hush that follows a battle no one won.
Run Lady Apokalypse in Sixty Seconds
- She wants to charge. Reaver's Momentum only triggers on a 10-ft. straight approach, so the first round she sprints in, knocks a target prone, and pins it. Deny her a clean lane and the prone combo falls apart.
- Kill-priority is your backline. She makes a beeline for healers and casters; screen them with a frontliner she has to chew through first, or she ends a squishy PC in two hits.
- Cleaving Sweep punishes clustering. Don't bunch up to revive a downed ally inside 5 ft. of her; spread out and she only ever sweeps one of you.
- Defiant Riposte taxes melee. Every melee hit she takes earns a free swing back, so consider ranged attacks or wait for an ally to draw the riposte before you commit.
- Three ways to run her: a hired-blade duel with the Scrap-Hound at her side, the elite enforcer in a warlord's throng, or the lieutenant who covers a bigger boss's flank while it does the real damage.
Lady Apokalypse
Medium humanoid (human), chaotic neutral
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINEReaver's Momentum. Signature. On a turn she moves at least 10 ft. straight toward a foe, her first melee hit deals an extra 9 (2d8) slashing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength save or be pushed 10 ft. and knocked prone.
Hard to Kill. When Lady Apokalypse is reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, she instead drops to 1 hit point once per day, snarling through the wound.
Actions
Multiattack. Lady Apokalypse makes two attacks with her greatblade.
Greatblade. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8+4) slashing damage. On a critical hit the target also takes 7 (2d6) slashing damage as the toothed edge bites deep.
Cleaving Sweep (Recharge 5-6). Lady Apokalypse swings her greatblade in a wide arc. Each creature within 5 ft. must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 18 (4d8) slashing damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. Creatures that fail are knocked prone.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Defiant Riposte (Reaction). When a creature she can see hits her with a melee attack, Lady Apokalypse makes one greatblade attack against that creature.
A mohawked warrior in scavenged battle-plate, one eye torn by an old scar, hauling a chain-toothed greatblade longer than she is tall, planted atop the skull-marked rubble of a fallen city.
Lady Apokalypse, Bound
Companion · acts on your initiative
Bound · GUIDELINEPack Sense (signature). The Lady Apokalypse has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of its allies is within 5 ft. of that creature and not incapacitated.
Actions
Rending Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d4+4) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength save or be knocked prone.
Reactions
Cover Her Flank. When an enemy within 5 ft. of the Lady Apokalypse targets its bonded ally with an attack, the Lady Apokalypse imposes disadvantage on that attack roll.
A wire-muscled scavenger beast that pads at her heel, fed on whatever the blade leaves behind.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Open by charging the softest target so Reaver's Momentum knocks it prone, then stand over it and trade. Save Cleaving Sweep for when two or more PCs cluster to help the downed one. Kill-priority: whoever is healing or buffing; pair her with a few raider minions to lock the rest of the party down.
Charge in turn one to land the momentum-prone hit, then Multiattack the prone target with advantage from a flanking ally. Punish melee with Defiant Riposte and dump Cleaving Sweep on any cluster the moment it recharges. Kill-priority: backline casters; run her as the muscle beside a bigger threat or a warband, never expecting her to hold the field alone.
Lead with a momentum charge into the most fragile PC, then Multiattack and Riposte every melee answer. Time Cleaving Sweep for tight formations and use Hard to Kill to buy one more deadly turn. She still lacks a solo action-economy kit at this tier: deploy her as a lieutenant in a lair or alongside a flagship boss and elite minions, not as the centerpiece.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Lady Apokalypse?
Her native build is CR 6 (2,300 XP) for a party of five level 5-10 heroes. Scaled stat blocks are provided for Tier 1 (levels 1-4) and Tier 3 (levels 11-15) so you can drop her into almost any table.
Can Lady Apokalypse be a companion or ally?
Yes. As a hired sword or reluctant ally she's a brutal frontliner; lean on her Multiattack, Reaver's Momentum charge, and Defiant Riposte. Her bonded Scrap-Hound flanks and guards her, making the pair a self-sufficient melee duo at a player's side.
Is Lady Apokalypse a solo boss?
No. She's a hard-hitting elite with no legendary actions, so a full party will out-act her over a round. Run her as the muscle beside a flagship threat, a warband, or a lair, where her charge and riposte shine without expecting her to control the whole fight alone.
