The Army of Caledonian Boar Has Risen

The Tusk remembers. So should you.

The wait is over. The First Rising of the Caledonian Boar has officially been uploaded, sculpted slow and sculpted right, held to the Clay Cyanide standard the whole way down. This is the STL faction we promised you last month, and the peat has given back its host.

What the Peat Gave Back

The last king of the low country did not tithe the Huntress. So she sent him the First Tusk, a god-beast the size of a war-cart, and a hundred heroes hunted it across the moor for nine days. On the ninth, they killed it. And then, over its hide, they killed each other.

Nine days of a god-beast's blood soaked into a ground that forgets nothing. Where the great boar fell, the bog began to give up a host, boar-shaped men and man-shaped boars, each carrying a splinter of the First Tusk's death and every ounce of its wrath.

They rose remembering the spears. Remembering the nine days. Remembering, most of all, the moment the hide was stripped and the heroes laughed over the carcass. They rose remembering being hunted. Now they hunt.

Understand the one that matters most: the risen do not stay risen on their own. What holds the Sounder in the waking world is not magic and not faith. It is rhythm. So long as the Boar Musician's drum beats the heartbeat of the First Tusk, the host does not sink. Silence him and the whole army begins to forget itself. Guard him well.
