Toxibubble
Toxibubble — The Encounter
Bloated bile-giant, brimful of the world-serpent's seeping venom · a boss your table can run with almost no prep. SRD 5.1-compatible.
Who Is Toxibubble
When the world-serpent's venom dripped past the basin that should have caught it, the spillage soaked into the bones of a brutish giant and never left. So the bile-singers of the northern mires tell it. Toxibubble is what a giant becomes when poison takes the place of blood: bloated past walking-speed, skin stretched to bursting over a belly that churns and ferments, mouth a furnace of rotted fangs. It scavenges what it cannot brew, bolting a one-eyed cannon to its shoulder to spit fermented bile at things it cannot reach, and dragging spiked mauls it swings without aim or mercy. It does not hunt for meat so much as for the pleasure of fouling clean water and clean air. Wells go bitter where it has passed; herds bloat and die in the fields. Warbands keep such a giant on a long chain and point it at fortress gates, for nothing breathes well downwind of Toxibubble, and it scarcely notices the spears stuck in its sides.
Run Toxibubble in Sixty Seconds
- Hold the line. Toxibubble is a stationary wall of poison, not a chaser (30 ft., DEX 8). Drop it in front of what it guards and make the party come to it.
- Open with Bile Cannon. First round, spit at the most fragile caster to force a poisoned save before the giant lumbers into reach.
- Punish melee. Bilemantle and Sickening Stench mean every turn next to it costs HP and the poisoned condition. Reward players who fight at range or move through fast.
- When bloodied, hold ground. Stop maneuvering, plant on the objective, and bank Spew Bile for the next two-plus clustered targets.
- Three ways to run it: a leashed siege-brute swung at a gate; a roaming plague that fouls a region's wells; or a bodyguard add-on parked beside a flagship boss while it controls the crowd.
Toxibubble
Large giant, chaotic evil
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINEBilemantle. Signature. Toxibubble's hide is taut with fermenting venom. The first time each turn a creature within 5 feet hits it with a melee attack, that creature takes 7 (2d6) poison damage as a blister bursts. When Toxibubble drops to 0 hit points, every creature within 10 feet must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take 14 (4d6) poison damage and be poisoned until the end of its next turn.
Sickening Stench. Any creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of Toxibubble must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of its next turn. On a success, the creature is immune to this trait for 24 hours.
Actions
Multiattack. Toxibubble makes two melee attacks, or one melee attack and one use of Bile Cannon.
Spiked Maul. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8+4) bludgeoning damage plus 4 (1d8) poison damage.
Bile Cannon. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 40/120 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6+4) acid damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the end of its next turn.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Spew Bile (Recharge 5-6). Toxibubble belches caustic vomit in a 15-foot cone. Each creature there makes a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) acid damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. The ground in the cone becomes difficult terrain until the start of Toxibubble's next turn.
A swollen, sickly-green giant wheezing with internal pressure, its blistered flesh weeping venom and a salvaged eye-cannon bolted across one shoulder, spiked mauls lashed to its back. Every step leaves a smoking, acrid puddle.
Toxibubble, Bound

Bound · GUIDELINECaustic Hide (signature). The first time each turn a creature within 5 feet hits Toxibubble with a melee attack, it takes 4 (1d8) poison damage.
Actions
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6+4) bludgeoning damage plus 3 (1d6) acid damage.
Reactions
Venom Burst. When Toxibubble takes damage that reduces it to half its hit points or fewer, it sprays bile; each creature within 5 feet must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution save or be poisoned until the end of its next turn.
A smaller, leashed bile-spawn that shadows its larger kin, useful as a living shield that punishes anyone who closes the gap.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Wade into the front rank, swing the maul, and let Bilemantle and Sickening Stench tax anyone who melees it. Open with Bile Cannon on the squishiest caster, then close. Pair it with a frontline boss or a swarm so it isn't focused down before the Spew Bile recharges.
Open with Bile Cannon on the backline, then bull into the densest cluster and hold there so Sickening Stench poisons the party every round. Save Spew Bile for two-plus clustered targets. Kill-priority is the party's healer; pair Toxibubble with archers or a controller boss who benefits from the poisoned crowd.
Run it as a siege brute beside a bigger threat or in its own bile-fouled lair, not alone. Lead with Spew Bile into a chokepoint, then Multiattack the most armored defender to free the casters behind. When bloodied, plant it on the objective and let the on-death Bilemantle burst punish anyone finishing it in melee.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

Questions, Asked at the Table
What CR is Toxibubble?
Natively CR 6 (Tier 2, ~levels 5-10): AC 15, 126 HP, +7 to hit, save DC 14. Scale it down to roughly CR 2 for a Tier 1 party or up to about CR 11 for Tier 3 using the per-tier numbers above; traits and actions stay the same, only the numbers move.
Can Toxibubble be a companion or ally?
As a chaotic-evil bile-giant it's a poor party member, but it makes a fine bound siege-beast for a villain. If a player wants a pet version, use the Cinderbloat, Bound statblock (AC 13, 75 HP) as a smaller leashed bile-spawn instead.
Is Toxibubble a solo boss?
No. It has no legendary actions and only one reaction-style power (Spew Bile), so a four-PC party will out-act it. Use it as a durable add-on or front-line wall alongside a flagship boss, minions, or in its own fouled lair.
