Orias is the Fifty-ninth Spirit of the Ars Goetia, holding the rank of Marquis in the infernal hierarchy. According to the Lesser Key of Solomon, Orias commands 30 legions of inferior spirits and belongs to the order of Marquises. As a Marquis, Orias serves within the structured hierarchy beneath the Great Kings of the Goetia.
Appearance
He appeareth in the form of a Lion, riding upon a Horse Mighty and Strong, with a Serpent's Tail; and he holdeth in his Right Hand two Great Serpents hissing.

He teacheth the Virtues of the Stars, and the Mansions of the Planets, and how to understand the same. He also transformeth Men, and he giveth Dignities, Prelacies, and Confirmation thereof; also Favour with Friends and with Foes.

Historical Note
The seal and description of Orias are drawn from the Ars Goetia, the first book of the Lemegeton (Lesser Key of Solomon), a 17th-century grimoire compiled from older Medieval and Renaissance sources. The 72 demons were said to have been conjured and bound by King Solomon using a brass vessel sealed with divine names. Each demon's seal, reproduced above, was used by the conjurer as a means of identification and control during the summoning ritual.
