The Grimoire Speaks

Orobas is the Fifty-fifth Spirit of the Ars Goetia, holding the rank of Prince in the infernal hierarchy. According to the Lesser Key of Solomon, Orobas commands 20 legions of inferior spirits and belongs to the order of Princes. As a Prince, Orobas serves within the structured hierarchy beneath the Great Kings of the Goetia.

Appearance

He appeareth in the form of a Horse; but when commanded, he putteth on the Image of a Man.

Powers & Dominion

He giveth True Answers of things Past, Present, and to Come, and of the Divinity, and of the Creation of the World. He is very faithful unto the Author, and will not suffer him to be tempted of any Spirit. He also giveth Dignities, Prelacies, and the Favour of Friends and of Foes.

Summoning & Constraints

He governeth 20 Legions of Spirits.

Historical Note

The seal and description of Orobas are drawn from the Ars Goetia, the first book of the Lemegeton (Lesser Key of Solomon), a 17th-century grimoire compiled from older Medieval and Renaissance sources. The 72 demons were said to have been conjured and bound by King Solomon using a brass vessel sealed with divine names. Each demon's seal, reproduced above, was used by the conjurer as a means of identification and control during the summoning ritual. Clay Cyanide's sculptural interpretations bring these ancient descriptions into three-dimensional form for the first time as presupported 3D printable STL miniatures.
