Who Is Blighted Loki
They say the bound liar gnaws still at the roots of the world, and that something of his venom seeped backward up his own veins. Where once Loki wore a hundred fair faces, the rot has hollowed him out: armor fused to flesh, ribs blooming into pale tendrils, the trickster's tongue grown black with spores. He no longer schemes for sport. He schemes to spread the blight, whispering rusted promises to anyone who will listen and watching their certainty wither at the root. Hunters who corner him find no fixed shape to strike, only a shifting figure that surrenders, weeps, swears oaths, and surrenders again, each lie a small poison. Skalds counsel the same charm thrice: trust nothing he says, strike the body you can see, and never let him close enough to touch, for his hand drinks the healing from a wound and leaves only the wound behind.
Run Blighted Loki in Sixty Seconds
- Hold the lie. Each round, before he acts, use Blight-Sworn Lies on whoever just acted; the DC 14 Wis save softens their next swing and feeds his advantage.
- Open with Bloom. If two or more PCs stand within a 15-ft. cone, lead with Pestilent Bloom, then Multiattack the wettest target.
- Kill-priority: the healer. Withering Touch shuts off hit-point recovery for a round; chain it on the cleric or bard so the party cannot patch the poison.
- When bloodied, get slippery. Spend False Surrender on the biggest hitter and Slip the Knot to relocate; let Vesa eat a blow with Shield the Master.
- Three ways to run him: liar (Deception-first social trap), plague-add beside a boss, or cornered shapechanger who never shows the same face twice.
Blighted Loki
Medium fiend (shapechanger), chaotic evil
CR 6 · 2,300 XP · GUIDELINEBlight-Sworn Lies. Signature. When a creature within 30 ft. that can see and hear Blighted Loki ends its turn, he may speak a single ruinous half-truth. The creature must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be afflicted with rotting doubt: it has disadvantage on the next attack roll or ability check it makes before the end of its next turn, and Blighted Loki gains advantage on his next attack against it.
Shapechanger. Blighted Loki can use his action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid he has seen, or back into his true form. His statistics, other than his size, are the same in each form. Any equipment he is wearing or carrying is not transformed. He reverts to his true form if he dies.
Actions
Multiattack. Blighted Loki makes two attacks: one with his rotting blade and one with his withering touch.
Rotting Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8+4) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) poison damage.
Withering Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6+5) necrotic damage, and the target cannot regain hit points until the start of Blighted Loki's next turn.
Pestilent Bloom (Recharge 5-6). Blighted Loki exhales a cloud of blighted spores in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. A creature that fails is also poisoned until the end of its next turn.
Bonus Actions & Reactions
Slip the Knot. Bonus Action. Blighted Loki takes the Disengage action and gains advantage on the first Deception check he makes before the end of his next turn.
False Surrender. Reaction (when hit by an attack he can see). Blighted Loki feigns a mortal wound; the attacker must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be unable to make opportunity attacks against him until the end of its next turn.
An ornate, blight-corroded plate suit clads a figure whose body has split open into writhing, tendril-like growths, raised over a throne of thorned ruin. The Sky-Walker's old grin has rotted into a rictus of decay.
Blighted Loki, Bound
Companion · acts on your initiative
Bound · GUIDELINECarrier of the Rot (signature). When Blighted Loki is reduced to 0 hit points, she bursts in a 10-foot radius of spores; each creature there makes a DC 13 Constitution save or takes 7 (2d6) poison damage.
Actions
Blighted Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6+2) slashing damage plus 3 (1d6) poison damage.
Reactions
Shield the Master. When Blighted Loki within 5 ft. is hit by an attack, Blighted Loki may swap places with him and take the hit instead.
A once-loyal servant, now half-melted into Loki's blight, shuffling forward to soak the blows her master earns.

How It Fights — by Tier
Same creature, scaled threat. The traits never change; only the numbers move.
Open with a lie via Blight-Sworn Lies, then close on the squishiest caster with Withering Touch to choke their healing. If clustered, lead with Pestilent Bloom. Kill-priority: anyone reliant on hit-point recovery. Pair him with a brute frontliner; he is the saboteur, not the wall.
Open with Pestilent Bloom on a cluster, then Multiattack the healer to shut off recovery. Use Slip the Knot to peel away when surrounded and False Surrender to dodge the heavy hitter. Pair with a flagship boss as the add that breaks party sustain; do not run him as the only threat.
Lead Pestilent Bloom into the back line, then alternate Withering Touch to lock out healing for a full round. Kill-priority: cleric/bard sustain. Use both bonus reactions to stay slippery. Still an add at this tier; flank him beside a true centerpiece adversary.

How a bound creature acts
- A companion acts on its owner's initiative, immediately after the owner.
- It uses the Companion block above — roughly ×0.6 HP and damage, no recharge abilities, and at most one reaction trait.
- It moves freely; it takes its Action only while its owner is conscious.
- At 0 HP a companion is broken, not dead — restored on a long rest unless your table rules otherwise.

What CR is Blighted Loki?
His home build is CR 6 (2,300 XP) for parties of levels 5-10: AC 16, 127 HP, +7 to hit, save DC 14. The tiers table rescales him down to CR 2 for levels 1-4 and up to roughly CR 11 for levels 11-15 by swapping only the numbers; his traits and actions stay identical.
Can Blighted Loki be a companion or ally?
Reluctantly. A desperate party might cut a deal with the blighted trickster, but he is chaotic evil and his every promise carries rot. Run him as a treacherous patron whose 'help' always costs more than it gives; the moment he is no longer useful to you, you are no longer useful to him.
Is he meant to fight solo?
No. Blighted Loki is solo_capable=false. He has no legendary actions and is built as an add-on saboteur that breaks party sustain. Pair him with a heavier flagship boss and let him be the piece that shuts off your healing and poisons your certainty while the bigger threat trades blows.
