The Grimoire Speaks

Furfur is the Thirty-fourth Spirit of the Ars Goetia, holding the rank of Count in the infernal hierarchy. According to the Lesser Key of Solomon, Furfur commands 26 legions of inferior spirits and belongs to the order of Counts. As a Count, Furfur serves within the structured hierarchy beneath the Great Kings of the Goetia.

Appearance

He appeareth in the form of an Hart with a Fiery Tail. He never speaketh truth unless he be compelled, or brought up within a triangle. Being compelled, he will take upon himself the form of an Angel.

Powers & Dominion

He causeth Love between Man and Woman. He can raise Lightnings and Thunders, Blasts, and Great Tempestuous Storms. And he giveth True Answers both of Things Secret and Divine, if commanded.

Summoning & Constraints

He must be constrained within a triangle or he will lie. He governeth 26 Legions of Spirits.

Historical Note

The seal and description of Furfur are drawn from the Ars Goetia, the first book of the Lemegeton (Lesser Key of Solomon), a 17th-century grimoire compiled from older Medieval and Renaissance sources. The 72 demons were said to have been conjured and bound by King Solomon using a brass vessel sealed with divine names. Each demon's seal, reproduced above, was used by the conjurer as a means of identification and control during the summoning ritual. Clay Cyanide's sculptural interpretations bring these ancient descriptions into three-dimensional form for the first time as presupported 3D printable STL miniatures.
